Barry has worked in the computer industry for over 25 years, specializing in PC-based computer solutions for small businesses. He has worked both in computer design and programming as well as in system design and implementation. With his extensive background in business and finance he has successfully managed several “small businesses” of the multi-million-dollar size. In addition to being the General Manager of In Balance he has held the positions of Chief Financial Officer, Chief of Operations, Secretary/Treasurer, Technical Director and Project Manager. For the past 25 years he has provided consulting and systems to hundreds of small to mid-sized businesses. This unique combination of experience and expertise along with his result-oriented approach makes Barry a cost-effective ally in your search for an efficient accounting solution.
Melissa came to In Balance 6 years ago. She has taken on the administrative tasks and office management allowing the company to grow at a tremendous pace. She has completely re-organized the internal office environment of the company. She will be the first person you talk to when you call us at “In Balance”. In addition to her administrative functions, Melissa also handles the dispatching of tech support calls and scheduling, which allows for a smooth operation.
Mark graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science degree from UC Berkeley, where he was first introduced to computers and programming. He worked as purchasing and warehouse manager for a wholesale import company where he was involved in the setup and implementation of the data processing dept on the companies Mainframe computer. He later became general manager of a multi location retail chain before founding and managing his own successful retail business. He designed and wrote software, learned accounting, Dynamics FRx and Crystal reports to use in his business. In his five years with In Balance, he has specialized in Dynamics installations, training and trouble shooting. He does Visual Basic programming and customization as well as creating custom reports in Crystal and in FRx.
Karen joined In Balance in 1991 with an extensive background in communications. She has over 20 years experience in the computer industry. After spending 3 years teaching training seminars, Karen moved out to the field to assist with the technical support needed by the customers. She provides the necessary skills of interpreting the technical complexities of software applications to a level of understanding for the end-users. These skills include, but are not limited to, installation, implementation, customization, and troubleshooting software conflict. She possesses excellent organizational skills, interpersonal communication and negotiating skills. She is proficient in the use of various PC-based applications across multiple platforms. Karen has spent the last 11 years concentrating in Great Plains/Dynamics accounting solutions with her main focus on writing financial reports using FRx software.
Jan has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to develop a business model, implement it, and turn a profit. She has years of entrepreneurial, management consulting, information systems consulting, mission critical business and accounting systems consulting, financial, and business management experience. Her specialty for the last 10 years has been system conversions and the implementation of major accounting, manufacturing, distribution, and project software. She has consulted to many small and mid sized businesses and has achieved vast improvements in profitability and the quality of information and technology in her client firms. Her degrees include a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems as well as a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management. She is also is eligible for the CPA exam, and has a second four year Major in Managerial and Financial Accounting.
Rita has over 30 years of experience in providing accounting services. The last 15 years have been in computerized accounting systems on DOS, Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Ms. Rogers has achieved certification on several accounting and time management software programs. Her expertise ranges from computerizing shoebox books to solid design solutions for 2 to 10+ networking systems. Her specialty is Accounting, Payroll, Inventory, Project Accounting, and Job Costing. She is great at taking slow moving installations and turning them into successful accounting systems and satisfied clients. Her exemplary people skills contribute to making her an excellent trainer and computer consultant.
Over 10 years experience in the development and maintenance of LAN’s, Wan’s, Novell, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Window XP, Unix, DOS, PC’s, file servers, printers, routers, bridges, scanners, storage devices, data communications. Hardware and software technical professional with experience in providing direct user support. A high degree of familiarity with email, fax servers, routers, firewalls, webservers & telecommunication protocols & equipment. PRI, T1, T3, Channel Banks, ISDN, xDSL and async. Skilled in C, C++, VBS, ASP, Visual Basic, HTML, and CSS programming languages.
Robert began managing sales and marketing for In Balance in 1992. Prior to In Balance he had his own business representing technical, commercial and institutional sales and providing consulting services on design, engineering and contract management to public and government agencies. He has been responsible for establishing and maintaining In Balance’s satisfied client base that today numbers over 200.
